Friday Night Lights

Friday after work the Mr. and I decided to do a little Happy Hour outing and hit up the City Beer Store, which is about ¾ of a mile away from our loft.

For those of you who like beer and tasting a variety of brews – this is definitely the place for you. They’ve expanded the store since the last time we visited (about 6 months ago), but they managed to keep the cozy atmosphere.  In addition to the second-to-none selection of bottled beers, there are about a dozen beers on tap as well. Heads up, you won’t find Coors Light at City Beer Store, but you will find beers that cover the brewmasters spectrum. From local IPA’s to Belgian Blonds, City Beer Store has something to sooth everyone’s palate! You can take your brews to go or pay a corkage fee to enjoy them in the “store”, which is exactly what we did.

If you’re like us and enjoy the ambiance and excitement that comes with a Friday afternoon Happy Hour, you should grab a seat and set up shop for a few hours in the “store.” There’s  a wrap around bar with stools, 3 small tables, and some barrels that you can use to lean against and rest your drinks on.

If you want to enjoy some food with your tasty brews, City Beer Store now offers the option to place an order for house-made sausages at Citizen’s Band, which is just around the corner.  We’ve also brought in Thai from Basil, which is right across the street and oh-so-delicious.

On our walk home we made a pit stop at Bloodhound. I was surprised how packed this place was for a Friday evening – it was still light out! I loved everrrryyyything about the décor in this place. Rustic reclaimed wood walls, industrial light fixtures, tufted leather chairs & couches, wall antlers, AND they serve their drinks in mason jars. My kind of place.

We capped our night with some dinner at home and an episode of Friday Night Lights  – we’re late to the game on this show but we are loving it! Kinda makes me want to move to a small town in Texas…
