Sarah & Devin on The Wedding Chicks

Happy Friday lovelies! We’re putting on the final touches for a big wedding weekend in Yosemite (follow along on Instagram for some sneak peeks!) but wanted to share a very special wedding that’s featured on Wedding Chicks today that you can check out here!

We worked with Sarah and Devin last year to design and coordinate their fall wedding at the majestic Stones and Flowers Retreat tucked away in the Santa Cruz Redwoods.

They wanted their big day to be laid back and comfortable with pops of color and DIY touches along the way. We added colorful DIY touches including a ribbon ceremony backdrop, colorful pompoms to toss as the bride and groom walked down the aisle, a chicken wire guest book display and matching nail and yarn table numbers and signage. Oh, and they had their favorite Mexican food on the menu, which was served family style on the farm tables, and delicious ice cream as dessert in place of a traditional cake!

One of the most important elements we incorporated in their big day was including her mom throughout all of the details. She had passed away the prior year and we wanted her memory to be included in all of the special moments. Sarah’s bouquet had a locket with a picture of her mother on her wedding day wrapped around her bouquet, we had a framed picture of her mother along with a bouquet next to Sarah’s father, and in place of favors the bride and groom made donations to the American Cancer Society. She was very much there in spirit throughout the entire day.

Sarah and Devin were such an amazing couple to work with and we are so happy with how everything turned out and couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come for the two of them!
