White Barn Bash Featured on the Glitter Guide

Happy Friday friends! I can’t believe how quickly December flew by and now we’re just two sleeps away from Christmas. Back in November, I met up with Frances from Charmed Events for coffee. We hit it off right away and we came up with the idea of getting like minded creatives in the South Bay (where we live) together to celebrate the end of a successful event season + the holidays. Most wedding industry events take place in San Francisco, but there are quite a handful of us in the South Bay, so it was the perfect way to get us all together and catch up + make new connections. I kept hearing attendees say “I had no idea you lived here, we should get together some time!” , which was exactly our hope for this event – to connect people beyond just the pretty pictures and interaction on social media.

The event took place at Sand Rock Farm, which is a darling B&B + event venue in Aptos in beautiful Santa Cruz County. I mean, can you think of a more picturesque setting for a holiday gathering than a white barn nestled in a redwood forest? Once Frances and I saw the barn in person, we felt so inspired and put together a design plan in about 1 hour after seeing the space. I wasn’t kidding about how inspired we were!

Since the barn was a blank white space, we decided to cozy it up with lots of black, gray marble, wood textures, natural greenery and metallic accents. We brought in specialty rentals and Gavita Flora draped fresh garland from the barn’s beams, which made the space feel instantly more intimate.
